For some of us, we enjoy the luxury of buying a piece of real estate and not having to lift a finger to make it personal, liveable and comfortable. The downside of this is typically at the expense of your wallet. Having a home professionally furnished, from beds and linens to accessories as small as a toothbrush, can become VERY expensive. Bridgeview has had the opportunity to work with WestHill Designs, an authorized Tui Lifestyle Dealer. WestHill specializes in furnishing condos, and offers multiple packages to fit their clients specific needs. WestHill can design your space and have your unit furnished all within a matter of weeks. If you’re in the market for Phoenix real estate and are looking to avoid expensive designer fees, read the article below and consider WestHill for the job.
Octoberfest is one of the State’s best festivals put on right here on Tempe Town Lake just minutes from our Bridgeview Condominiums. Many of us know all too well how hard Arizona was hit in the “housing crisis” of late. With many in fear of hidden inventory of bank owned properties, buyers have turned into renters. With a surge in qualified tenants hitting the rental market, market rents have seen increases as property values have decreased, thus presenting the underlying question: To buy or rent real estate?
Here are a few links to help educate buyers as to whether it makes more sense to buy or rent in our current housing market.
For those of you looking for real estate in the greater Phoenix area, look no further. Tempe was recently ranked #3 nationally for best affordable and fun place to live, ahead of Scottsdale. From a free water park to hundreds of bars and restaurants, Tempe has something AFFORDABLE for everyone. In our past blogs we’ve shared some of the many options Tempe has to offer for dining and entertainment. From college athletics in your backyard to, fine dining in the elegant setting of some hidden treasures on Mill Avenue, there truly is something for everyone. Bloomberg Business and Home and Gardens put what we’ve shared into perspective when considering other cities to call home.

We’ve gone over a few of the delicious restaurants Mill Ave. has to offer just around the corner from Bridgeview in the past. As if the fine dining, breweries, coffee houses and more weren’t enough to keep your belly happy, here are a few more offered just a mile away on University Drive!
Cornish Pasty Co. – Have you ever had a pasty? Think calzone, but with British roots. They wrap up some of your favorite ingredients in a flaky, tasty dough and bake it to perfection. Pasties are filled with everything from lamb and mint to cheese steak to chicken alfredo. Originally in Cornwall, England, miners would eat their pasties for lunch, using the crimped ends as a handle. Thankfully, you can use a knife and fork and not have to worry about that whole mining thing.

Mucho Gusto – This quaint Mexican food destination is always so good. Sure they serve quesadillas, burritos and tacos, but the flavors aren’t the Sonoran Mexican food that we’re all used to eating. Their salsa is very flavorful and although I’m not a guacamole fan, those who love the green stuff say that they have some of the best around.
603 W. University Dr., Tempe
Oregano’s – Okay, so sometimes Oregano’s can have a bit of a wait, but I haven’t tried one thing on their menu that I didn’t love. Really love. My favorites are the Pablo Picasso Salad, the Mediterranean inspired O-Riva Pizza, the garlic heaven-in-a-pizza called the Bistro Classic and of course, you must save room for the Pizza Cookie. Also, their Mid Day Rush weekday lunch specials are a great deal.
523 W. University Dr., Tempe
Essence Bakery – This place uses the best local ingredients around, the bake their own bread and they make some of the tastiest desserts that you’ll ever have. They’re open for both breakfast and lunch, but don’t pass up the pastry case. People practically live for the macarons, the sandwich-like French pastries filled with cream. Personally, I dream of the chocolate truffle cookies.
825 W. University Dr., Tempe
Sacks – There are a lot of sandwich places out there, but none quite like Sacks. Their sandwiches are piled high with fresh ingredients and their daily specials are excellent. And, to top it off, every meal comes with a little cookie. How can you beat that?
839 W. University Dr., Tempe
Rosita’s – Rosita’s has been a local favorite since 1963. It’s family owned and serves up great tasting Sonoran Mexican food. Chimichangas, enchiladas or arroz con pollo….it’s always so hard to choose!
960 W. University Dr., Tempe
Dilly’s Deli – You can’t go wrong with grilled sandwiches and no one works a grill better than Dilly’s. Their thick slices of bread are chock full of meats, cheeses and even a veggie or two and then toasted to perfection. Their salads are tasty too, and they’re served with a side of that wonderful bread. And the creamy soups? They’re in a bread bowl.
