Bridgeview Condominiums selected as site for Arizona Governor Brewer's meeting with local business leaders

TEMPE, Arizona – October 19, 2009 – Bridgeview Condominiums, a 12-story high-rise condominium project with 104 dwellings on the south shore of Tempe Town Lake, was the site of a meeting with Arizona Governor Janice K. Brewer and 30 local business leaders.

Gov. Brewer held her first informal lunch with the Tempe Chamber of Commerce leaders Tuesday in one of four available penthouse residences at Bridgeview Condominiums. She shared her thoughts on the state’s economic environment and addressed a number of issues as she discussed her plans to balance the state budget and maintain Arizona’s fiscal integrity.

Topics discussed included:

  • Protecting Arizona’s portion of federal stimulus funding
  • Holding a special November legislative session to address underfunded agencies
  • Working cooperatively with the state legislature to continue supporting the state’s social programs
  • Tax reform

“We truly appreciate that the governor took the opportunity to speak with the Tempe Chamber leadership in this informal setting at Bridgeview Condominiums, allowing us to have one-to-one dialogue with her on issues that are important to us,” said Vicki Kringen, Tempe Chamber of Commerce Board Chair and Senior Vice President of The Centers for Habilitation.

Participants in the informal discussion included senior representatives from Arizona State University, the City of Tempe and the Tempe Visitors and Conventions Bureau, among others.
